Kieran Magner directs the Handbell Choir program at Duncan Memorial UMC.
A musician and saxophonist from Henrico, Virginia, Kieran is a recent 2025 graduate of Randolph-Macon College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music. While at R-MC, he studied saxophone under Professor Gregory Wrenn and has a strong passion for jazz music.
Kieran brings both conducting experience and a personal history with the instrument to the program, having started playing handbells as an 8th grader in 2017 at Lakeside United Methodist Church. He enjoys the unique challenge and collaborative nature of the instrument, believing that handbells have a special way of bringing people together to create a musical experience.
As Director, he is responsible for conducting the ensemble, selecting appropriate handbell repertoire, and leading rehearsals for ringers of all experience levels. Outside of his work at Duncan Memorial, Kieran also teaches private saxophone lessons to young students.
