Library Ministry

Our libraries are open for self-service whenever the church building is open.

Adult Library

The Adult Library is located on the first floor of the Sunday school building. It contains non-fiction, fiction, compact discs, VCR tapes and cassette tapes on religious topics of interest. In addition, there are many resources available for Bible study, teacher/leader development and personal enrichment. There is a section for large print books, and a section for books relating to Stephen Ministry. The United Methodist Women’s resource books are also a part of the library.

Children’s Books

The Children’s Books can now be found in the regular Adult Library on the first floor of the Sunday School Building.  There are books of interest for children of all ages. The books are located on the lefthand side of the regular library on the two lower shelves.

Please consider donating a book in memory of or in honor of a loved one. Is there a book you would like to see in our library? Drop us an email and let us know!

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-on-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community. Katie Hudson and Amy Tomkins are our ministry leaders and are ready to answer questions you have about Stephen Ministry or to help you by providing a care giver.

Table Fellowship

What is Table Fellowship? It’s an opportunity for small group fellowship that involves meeting in each others homes and sharing meals. If you’re new to Duncan Memorial, this is a great way to make friends. If you’re a long time member, this is a great way to meet some of the newer families of our church.

How does it work? A dessert social is held in early December for all couples and singles participating in the program to plan for the coming season. Then we meet once a month for dinner from January through April in groups of eight. The hosts provides an entrée and others bring a vegetable, salad and bread, or dessert. A picnic concludes the program for all participants in May.

How can you sign up or get to know more?  To have your questions answered or to sign up for this program you may contact Mary Lou Stocky at 804-746-7586.
